But a budget increase for the fourth flick saw Keanu’s pay soar, earning him a whopping $15million (£12million), according to JustJared.
John Wick follows the life of the eponymous character, a legendary hit-man who came out of retirement to get revenge on the men who killed his dog.
The first film, simply called John Wick, debuted in 2014 and earned the star a base salary of between $1million and $2million (£787,000 and £1.6million).

Keanu made $2 million and $2.5 million for the much-anticipated sequel.
In 2019, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum became the franchise’s highest-grossing film in just ten days.
It’s unclear how much money Keanu made from Chapter 3, but as the film franchise’s budget grew significantly, his income most certainly increased as well.
In March 2023, John Wick: Chapter 4 debuted as the franchise’s most expensive film, thanks to a significant budget rise.
The actor earned a stunning $15 million (£12 million) for the fourth installment, more than seven times what he was paid for the first picture nine years ago.
In May 2023, it was reported that a fifth film will be made, despite the fact that the main character John appeared to die at the end of the fourth film.

Joe told Total Film that while the hit-man would return in future film, other aspects of his universe would be explored in distinct films.

Sharing a photo of Keanu in rehearsals for a film with Keke Palmer, one user on X, formerly Twitter, wrote: ‘Ik that’s not John Wick, JOHN wrong set sweetie, we waiting on 5.’
‘Gone and made John Wick 5 and be done since you’ve left too many clues and open doors in 4,’ another remarked in response to a post regarding a John Wick spin-off series.

However, no date has been set for the fifth film’s release, and fans are eager to learn more about it.
Media figure Joe indicated that development on the fifth main installment in the film series would take time, casting doubt on the possibility of an immediate release.
However, he did state that the character would absolutely return in the future.
‘We’re creating the world, and when that [fifth] film comes out, it will be organically formed from how we’re beginning to tell those stories. But you can rely on John Wick’s regular cadence,” he said.
Drake went on to say that Lionsgate was committed to developing ‘a constant cadence of a franchise’ in response to ‘obvious appetite by the audience.’
According to Box Office Mojo, John Wick: Chapter Four grossed approximately $429 million (£338 million) globally after its March 24 premiere in the US.
Critics praised the film, giving it a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
