Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold Both Attend the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix, but They Support Different Teams – From Liverpool Teammates to F1 Rivals!

Liverpool teammates Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold traded the pitch for the pitlane this past weekend at the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. But while they share the red of Liverpool, their allegiances differed on the high-octane track.

Alexander-Arnold, a known petrolhead and even a shareholder in the Alpine F1 Team, was naturally rooting for his team. Van Dijk, however, remained loyal to his Dutch heritage, cheering on the reigning champion, Max Verstappen of Red Bull.

The friendly rivalry likely added some extra spice to the race for the two defenders. Did the post-race celebrations see some good-natured ribbing or a classy handshake? We’ll have to wait and see if either spills the beans!

One thing’s for sure, these versatile athletes know how to enjoy their downtime, and with the F1 season in full swing, maybe we’ll see them at more races this year. Just don’t expect them to be on the same team – unless it’s back on the pitch for Liverpool, of course!
