Kim Kardashian is undertaking a significant renovation of the $60,000,000 mansion she once shared with Kanye West

Kim Kardashian appears to be starting an extensive renovation of the $60 million mansion she once shared with Kanye West.

The 44-year-old reality star originally purchased the Hidden Hills estate in Calabasas with Kanye back in 2014, the same year they tied the knot in Florence.

They bought the property for $20 million, and Kanye then led a remodel that was rumored to cost an additional $20 million.

After Kim filed for divorce in 2021, she retained ownership of the home after reportedly reaching a buyout agreement with Kanye.

Now it looks like Kim is adding her own updates, as part of the building was seen under reconstruction last week.

Kanye had previously spent five years remodeling the mansion, working with renowned Belgian interior designer and antiquarian Axel Vervoordt.

The couple famously went viral after showcasing the home’s strikingly minimalist, all-white interiors in a February 2020 feature for Architectural Digest.

Kanye highly praised Axel, saying, “When I saw his work, I thought, This man could design Batman’s house. I had to collaborate with him.”

The rap legend added, “It was a real accomplishment to bring Axel to Calabasas to transform what was basically a McMansion.”

Every interior wall was finished in smooth off-white plaster, giving the house a stark, minimalist look that drew a lot of mockery online.

“Kanye and Kim wanted something completely original,” Axel explained when discussing the unique design of the home.

All the interior walls were covered in off-white plaster, which along with the home's spartan decorations created an antiseptic look that was widely mocked online

“We weren’t focused on decoration; instead, we discussed a philosophy on modern living and what it would look like in the future. We transformed the house by refining it, constantly striving to make it even more pure,” he shared.
