Over a decade before Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest on sеx trafficking charges, Taylor Swift named him as one of her dream prom dates.
A resurfaced clip from 2011 shows the “Lover” singer playing a celebrity quiz game on the Rachael Ray show when she was 21.
During the game, Swift held up photos of music stars like Combs, Jennifer Lopez, and Katy Perry while answering rapid-fire questions.
When asked who she would take to prom, Swift—now 34—replied, “It would be a group, and it would be a really fun group.”
Ray, now 56, teased her by saying, “Boy, you’re going on a frеaky prom date,” as Swift held up photos of Combs, Perry, Lopez, Justin Timberlake, and Sheryl Crow.
“Why that amazing mix of people?” the talk show host asked.
The “Fearless” singer responded, “Because… all these different reasons. Katy would be so much fun—she’s just wild, spontaneous, and crazy fun.”
Swift continued, “Diddy has always been very kind to me, and he’d be fun to have in the prom group.”
Ray chimed in, saying, “He’s such a gentleman, isn’t he? A really lovely gentleman.”
The resurfaced clip went viral after it was shared in a now-deleted TikTok video, sparking backlash from fans who felt the moment “didn’t age well.”
“As a millennial, we looked up to these people. We had no idea what was really going on. This is Taylor during the Fearless or Speak Now era, when she was only 19-21,” one fan commented, according to the Daily Mail.
Another added, “We were so naive back then,” while a third wrote, “This aged like milk.”
Combs, now 54, was arrested on September 16 on charges of sеx trafficking, rackеteering, and transporting individuals for prоstitution.
