Taylor Swift encountered a wardrobe issue during the Miami leg of her Eras tour.
The pop sensation performed in Miami on October 18, marking the first of three nights in the city. While wearing one of her signature tour outfits, a problem arose with the custom white Vivienne Westwood gown featuring black lettering details. As she sang “But Daddy I Love Him,” the dress began to unzip.
This incident occurred just as she was starting the track from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, according to the Miami Herald. Fortunately, two of her backup dancers rushed to assist her, fixing the zipper so she could continue her performance without any issues. The moment was captured on video, which has since circulated online.
Her backup dancers successfully repaired the zipper, allowing the show to proceed smoothly. The gown, which made its debut in Paris during the European leg of her tour, is a sleeveless design with a corseted bodice and an asymmetrical hemline. The dress features lyrics from “Fortnight,” her eleventh studio album, with the phrase “I love you, it’s ruining my life” written in block letters.
On the first night of her Miami show, Taylor unveiled a new tour outfit: a Roberto Cavalli catsuit that debuted during the segment dedicated to her Reputation era. Many fans speculated that this might indicate the imminent release of her re-recorded version of Reputation. In addition to her new outfit, Taylor welcomed her friend and collaborator, Florence Welch, to the stage, where they performed “Florida” from The Tortured Poets Department. After their performance, the two embraced warmly.
Florence expressed her gratitude to Taylor for the experience via Instagram Stories on October 19, writing, “FLORIDA!!! Thank you so much for having me @TaylorSwift.”
The Miami show marks the beginning of the second and final leg of Taylor’s U.S. tour after a nearly two-month hiatus. Following her time in Miami, she will perform in New Orleans and Indianapolis. The tour initially kicked off in March 2023 and is set to wrap up in Vancouver, Canada, on December 8, with Gracie Abrams as the special guest opener for the Canadian dates.
