Sterling Mahomes has taken on the role of Taylor Swift’s protégé in a different setting.
During a recent episode of “The Drive” podcast, Patrick Mahomes shared that his three-year-old daughter has been spending significant time in the kitchen with Swift since she started dating his teammate Travis Kelce last summer.
“Sterling loves baking, so they often whip up treats together, and I can’t deny that I enjoy eating them,” said the 29-year-old quarterback.
The two-time NFL MVP shares Sterling and their one-year-old son Bronze with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, who has become a close friend of Swift’s.
While Patrick acknowledged that the “Fortnite” singer hasn’t baked specifically for him, he has been fortunate enough to sample some of her “various treats, like muffins and donuts.”
He remarked that Swift’s baked goods have met his expectations.
“It’s as good as everyone has claimed,” he said. “She’s fantastic at baking.”
Despite Swift’s reputation for her homemade Pop-Tarts, the NFL star confessed that he “has never” tasted one of the pastries.
In February, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid shared that the pop star prepared special treats for Kelce and some of his teammates during the 2023 season.
“She enjoys cooking, so she made homemade Pop-Tarts for the offensive linemen,” Reid disclosed during a livestream.
The renowned coach noted that this thoughtful gesture quickly won the team over, even though he didn’t get the opportunity to sample one himself.
At the start of their relationship, the 14-time Grammy winner also baked Kelce a pan of cinnamon rolls, which is one of his favorite desserts.
“Taylor makes amazing Pop-Tarts and cinnamon rolls,” the 35-year-old NFL star shared with reporters in June.
When they’re not dining out with their celebrity friends, the couple enjoys cooking together and sharing homemade meals.
Kelce recently revealed that the superstar has helped expand his taste in food after he spent years being a “picky” eater.
