Taylor Swift’s Lover has had an exciting journey in the music charts. Released in 2019, this pop-filled album was a major success, producing several hit singles. Since its debut, fans have continued to show their support, and the album even saw a surprising resurgence in popularity after the late success of “Cruel Summer.”
Lover remains one of Swift’s most beloved albums, despite her subsequent releases. It still receives considerable play from fans, contributing to a significant milestone in the U.K.
The album has now spent 250 weeks on the U.K.’s main albums chart. As it reaches this impressive mark, Lover drops one spot but continues to reside within the top 40, landing at No. 35 this week.
Lover is only the second album from Swift to achieve 250 weeks on the U.K.’s most-consumed albums list, following 1989, which logged 373 weeks—though that number is unlikely to increase significantly. Many of the singer’s devoted fans have shifted their focus to 1989 (Taylor’s Version), her re-recording of the hit album.
Currently, Lover ranks as Taylor Swift’s third-highest title on the U.K. albums chart, coming in after The Tortured Poets Department at No. 11 and Folklore at No. 27. The album also outperforms several newer releases from the superstar.
Swift occupies eight positions on the 100-slot albums chart. Alongside The Tortured Poets Department, Folklore, and Lover, she also appears with fan favorites like 1989 (Taylor’s Version) at No. 38, Midnights at No. 39, Reputation at No. 44, Evermore at No. 80, and Red (Taylor’s Version) at No. 93.
From its debut in the summer of 2019, Lover has distinguished itself within Swift’s remarkable discography. It received a boost in popularity—one that continues today—when “Cruel Summer” was released as a single last summer. After being featured on her The Eras Tour setlist, the track started climbing sales and streaming charts, eventually becoming one of the biggest hits of the year, which renewed interest in Lover.
