Taylor Swift has threatened to take legal action against a man tracking her private jet publicly. According to In Touch magazine, college student Jack Sweeney operates a social media account that monitors the flight paths of Taylor’s private jet amid discussions about the singer’s carbon footprint.

In December 2023, Taylor’s lawyer, Katie Wright Morrone, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Jack. Jack’s family has since revealed the document to The Washington Post. The letter from Taylor’s legal team warns that they would “have no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies” if he did not cease his “stalking and harаssing behavior.”

The letter also indicated that Taylor was increasingly concerned for her safety because of the tracking. The legal team argued that the social media posts were causing “direct and irreparable harm, as well as emotional and physical distress,” heightening the singer’s “constant state of fear for her personal safety.” Taylor’s team further asserted that there was “no legitimate interest in or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harаss, and exert dominion and control.”

In reply, Jack Sweeney shared his own letter through The Daily Mail. “I want to emphasize that I never intend to cause harm. I actually enjoy some of Swift’s songs. I believe in transparency and public information. It’s also worth noting that this letter came just days after headlines about her jet usage generated negative attention regarding carbon emissions. I think people are interested, and [Swift] should reasonably expect that her jet will be tracked, regardless of whether I do it, since it is public information,” he stated.

This isn’t the first instance of a public figure confronting Jack for tracking their aircraft. In 2022, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is the richest person in the world, accused Jack of sharing his “assаssination coordinates” and subsequently banned him from Twitter (now known as X).
