Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, revealed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme diseаse, which came as a surprise to him. The Reddit co-founder, aged 41, shared the news in a series of posts on X/Twitter, explaining that doctors informed him of the diagnosis after conducting several medical tests. Despite not experiencing any symptoms, Ohanian plans to undergo treatment for the condition.

Ohanian elaborated on some of the specifics surrounding his diagnosis, noting concerns with his cholesterol levels and sharing his testosterone levels. He mentioned a family history with the diseаse but expressed surprise since he typically spends little time in regions where Lyme diseаse is prevalent.

Planning to start antibiotic treatment, Ohanian humorously added, “Can’t keep me down, tick!” along with a cartoon image of The Tick character. He emphasized to his followers that he isn’t offering medical advice and urged them to consult healthcare professionals for guidance.

Lyme diseаse, caused by borrelia bacteria transmitted through tick bites, is prevalent in certain regions like the northeastern United States. It affects hundreds of thousands of people annually, with early antibiotic treatment generally leading to full recovery.
