During the filming of “John Wick,” Keanu Reeves developed a special connection with his co-star, an 8-week-old beagle named Andy. In the movie, Reeves plays a retired hitman seeking vеngеance for the dеath of his beloved dog at the hands of Russian mobsters.
Chosen by Animal Actors International trainer Kim Krafksy for his charm, sociability, and beauty, Andy quickly became a favorite on set. Krafksy meticulously guided Andy through his role, providing cues and monitoring his behavior, particularly in emotionally charged scenes.
Although Andy’s character meets an early end in the film, the entire cast and crew, including Reeves, grew fond of the adorable pup. Now a year old, Andy enjoys a peaceful life at the Animal Actors International farm in New Jersey, occasionally reprising his red-carpet role during film promotions.
As a cherished co-star in “John Wick,” Andy not only won Keanu Reeves’ affection but also left a lasting impact on everyone involved in the production, illustrating the special bond between actors and their animal counterparts in Hollywood.
