The Duchess of Sussex reunited with her longtime makeup artist after an apparent two-year break at the Espy Awards on Thursday. Known as Meghan’s close friend and also ‘guncle’ to Archie and Lilibet, Daniel Martin had been a constant presence throughout Meghan Markle’s royal tenure. He gained prominence for doing her makeup for her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018 and continued to collaborate with her at various royal events over two years.

Their collaboration appeared to pause after Meghan did her own styling during a quasi-royal visit to Nigeria. However, Daniel recently shared on Instagram that they teamed up again for Meghan’s look at the ESPYS Awards, describing Meghan and Prince Harry as his close friends. This reunion surprised fans who hadn’t seen them work together publicly since Meghan’s trip to the Netherlands in May 2022 for the Invictus Games.

Daniel’s Instagram posts also highlight his work with other celebrities like Rachel McAdams and Nicola Coughlan. He and Meghan first connected over a decade ago during her time on Suits, and their professional relationship blossomed, with Daniel often praising Meghan’s style and collaborative spirit in creating her looks.
