Tom Holland was surrounded by fans as he exited the theatre following a Saturday night performance of Romeo & Juliet in London.
The 28-year-old Spider-Man actor portrays Romeo in director Jamie Lloyd’s interpretation of the beloved Shakespearean tragedy.
Playing opposite him as Juliet in the sold-out production is newcomer Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, an alumna of the University of Oxford.
At the stage door of the Duke of York’s Theatre, Tom was dressed in an open, short-sleeved light green shirt layered over a slightly darker T-shirt. He paired this with loose-fitting warm grey trousers, a cross-body satchel, and white and grey trainers.
Tom smiled broadly, placed a hand over his heart, and waved to fans who eagerly tried to catch a glimpse of him and recorded videos on their phones.
Earlier in June, Tom was spotted relaxing in Richmond Park, walking his dog during his downtime.
The star has split his time between his London residence and the United States since childhood, initially for work and now for work and to be with his girlfriend Zendaya.
Emmy Award-winner Zendaya, 27, who co-stars with Tom in Spider-Man, has attended multiple performances of Romeo & Juliet. She was last seen at a show in mid-June, patiently waiting in the car while Tom greeted his fans.
Recent reports indicated that authorities have intervened due to the large crowds regularly gathering outside for the Marvel superstar.
According to The Sun, Tom has been cooperative with new rules aimed at facilitating a quick exit for safety reasons.
A source mentioned, ‘Tom is a professional and was happy to comply.’
Officials have implemented these rules in the interest of public safety, ensuring they are ready to offer additional support if necessary.
A spokesman for Westminster Council stated, ‘We welcome visitors to the West End, and it’s great to see theatres so popular. However, maintaining pavements and public spaces is crucial for public safety.’
Managing crowds and access rеmains the responsibility of each theatre, with collaboration from local authorities and police when needed.
While Tom may not stop to chat or sign autographs, as is customary in theatre traditions, he is willing to pose for photos as he exits.
Although he began his career in the West End starring in Billy Elliot The Musical, Romeo & Juliet marks Tom’s return to the stage after his early theatre days.
