Marisa Tomei and Tom Holland effortlessly embody their roles as aunt and nephew in Spider-Man: Homecoming, already displaying a familial bond on set. When the 51-year-old actress spotted her 20-year-old co-star in Atlanta, Georgia, she enthusiastically greeted him with a warm hug.
The pair engaged in conversation before heading to their respective trailers for costume preparations: Marisa transforming into a younger version of Aunt May, and Tom gearing up as the iconic superhero Spider-Man. Traditionally portrayed as an elderly couple in the comics and previous films, Marisa’s portrayal marks a departure with a youthful interpretation of Aunt May.
Arriving in a casual blue jumpsuit and Teva sandals, Marisa was ready for her role, while Tom initially sported an Under Armour tank and tracksuit pants before donning Peter Parker’s scholarly attire. Tom, having already debuted as Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil Wаr, continues to explore the character’s journey and abilities in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which centers on Peter balancing high school life with his superhero responsibilities.
Scheduled for release on July 17, 2017, Spider-Man: Homecoming also features Zendaya, Michael Keaton, and Robert Downey Jr.
