Tom Holland provided new insights into his highly-anticipated third Spider-Man film on Tuesday night, although the film’s title remained undisclosed.
Earlier that day, Holland had stirred curiosity and made headlines by sharing a photo from the upcoming Spidey sequel on Instagram, along with what appeared to be the “new title” for the film, Spider-Man: Phone Home. His co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon also joined in on social media with their own similar titles, prompting playful speculation. Even Jimmy Kimmel participated in the fun, though the actual title reveɑl date remɑins uncertain.
The 24-year-old actor, known for inadvertently revealing plot details in past Marvel films, debunked swirling rumors during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. When asked about rumored returns of Jamie Foxx’s Electro and previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Holland denied any knowledge.
“It would be amazing if they were, because they haven’t told me that yet. And I am Spider-Man, and I’ve read the script from beginning to end, so it would be a miracle if they could have kept that from me,” Holland joked.
Fallon noted that Marvel executives like Kevin Feige are known for keeping secrets, to which Holland humorously responded, “I’m a trustworthy member of the Avengers and I haven’t really spoiled anything… well, there’s a few things, but no big things.”
While Holland didn’t disclоse the film’s title, he did reveɑl that his younger brother, Harry Holland, will appear in Spider-Man 3, continuing a cameo tradition from their previous film Cherry.
“In Cherry, he has a small cameo as a character called the shaky kid, and we thought it would be funny to have him reprise that role in every film,” Holland shared, joking about his brother’s humorous scene involving a webbing mishap.
Reflecting on his journey from auditioning for Captain America: Civil Wɑr to starring in his third Spider-Man film, Holland shared nostalgic moments and humorous anecdotes about his evolving career in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As for the ongoing speculation about the film’s title, Holland, Zendaya, and Batalon’s playful contributions with home-themed titles like Spider-Man: Home Slice and Spider-Man: Home Wrecker added to the excitement surrounding the upcoming sequel, set for release on December 21.
Despite the playful banter and fake titles, Holland emphasized the genuine excitement for the film’s spectacular figҺt scenes and overall impact, promising fans an unforgettable cinematic experience.
