Jonah Hill is at the helm of “Outcome,” which marks Cameron Diaz’s second venture back into acting since her hiatus. Production for the dark comedy is now officially underway.
Pictures from the set of the film emerged on Wednesday, May 8, showcasing various stars at work in Los Angeles. Alongside Diaz, 51, Keanu Reeves and Matt Bomer were also spotted on set. The movie, directed by Jonah Hill, features Reeves, 59, in the role of Reef, a troubled Hollywood star forced to confront his past demons and make amends after being blackmailed with a mysterious video clip from his history.
This isn’t the first time Diaz and Reeves have shared the screen; they previously starred together in the 1996 film “Feeling Minnesota,” a comedy revolving around two lovers who flee after meeting at Diaz’s character’s wedding to Reeves’ character’s brother. “Outcome” also boasts a star-studded cast, including Kaia Gerber, David Spade, Laverne Cox, Susan Lucci, and others.
For Hill, “Outcome” marks his latest project since his involvement in “You People” (2023), a project where he served as a co-writer and actor. The 40-year-old actor made his directorial debut with “Mid90s” in 2019 and later released the documentary “Stutz” in 2022.
As for Diaz, her involvement in “Outcome” signifies a continuation of her return to acting following a hiatus after her role as Miss Hannigan in 2014’s “Annie.” After that project, Diaz took a step back to focus on her family with husband Benji Madden and their daughter Raddix, 4, as well as to launch her Avaline wine company. The couple recently announced the birth of their second child, son Cardinal, in March.
“Outcome” comes after Diaz wrapped filming for her upcoming project, “Back in Action,” alongside Jamie Foxx and Glenn Close. Diaz and Foxx, 56, were spotted filming in Atlanta as recently as January, with Netflix hinting on February 1st that the movie will be released soon.
