Dave Chеppelle Joins Chris Rock and Kevin Hart on Stagе in N.Y.C.: ‘Had to Snеak My Way in Here’

Dave Chappelle teamed up with Chris Rock and Kevin Hart for some surprise laughs in New York City!

Chappelle, 48, shocked the crowd at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night when he showed up unannounced to perform alongside Rock, 57, and Hart, 43, during their comedic double act.

“Last night was by far the best moment of my career….I can’t even explain it…I can’t find the words…,” Hart wrote on his Instagram page alongside pictures of the trio onstage. “Just know that last night was the true definition of a ‘EPIC NIGHT’ …..I love my brothers more than words can explain.”

“What we did to the Garden will never be done again….We made history last night!!!!!!!! #ComedicRockStarShit #RockHartChappelle,” he added.

Chappelle made his entrance onstage without any introduction, smoking a cigarette and receiving a warm welcome from the audience.

“Had to sneak my way in here,” he quipped as the crowd cheered.

Earlier that week, Chappelle made headlines when one of his comedy shows in Minneapolis was moved to a different venue following public backlash.

“Despite what you may have read about in the news, I’m okay, and I appreciate the support,” Chappelle said.

He addressed the criticism of his Netflix special “The Closer,” where he targeted the LGBTQ community, especially transgender people, saying he “gets it” but added, “I already spent the money.”

Chappelle also joked about being attacked at the Hollywood Bowl in May, blaming his bodyguards for “wearing dress shoes” and “sliding all over the place like at a bowling alley.”

The comedian noted Rock’s joke, “Was that Will Smith?” and his response, “That was a trans man,” which generated more headlines. (At this year’s Oscars, Smith slapped Rock on live TV after he joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.)

Chappelle expressed disapproval of media outlets calling the attɑck “alleged” despite it being captured on video and wished his attacker would get monkeypox in jail, saying, “Not that he should diе, but his ɑss should itch for four to six weeks.”

Rock and Hart continued their sets, mentioning Smith several times. Rock commented on “cancel culture,” saying, “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face.”

The three comedians returned to the stage together at the end of the show to express their gratitude for each other. Hart brought out a goat wearing gold chains for Rock, calling him the Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.).

Chappelle concluded by sharing the strong bond between the comedians, saying, “When my brothers call, I come running.”
