More than three decades since their romance, Keanu Reeves and Sofia Coppola reunite for the 100th anniversary celebration of The House of Suntory whiskey brand.
At 58, Keanu Reeves demonstrates no qualms about collaborating with his former girlfriend Sofia Coppola, 52, for a noble cause. The John Wick star partnered with Sofia, whom he briefly dated in the early 1990s, for a new advertisement for House of Suntory. The former couple graced the whiskey brand’s centennial party in London on Thursday, June 1, posing together for the cameras. Keanu sported a classic black suit paired with brown boots, while Sofia donned a cream-colored top with black jeans. They also attended the anniversary event in New York City on May 23.
Before the London gathering, Keanu spoke with PEOPLE about their collaboration on the Suntory Time tribute film, expressing his delight at the opportunity to work with Sofia and her brother Roman Coppola. He described the experience of filming the ad in Japan as “really wonderful,” particularly due to its connection to Sofia’s Oscar-winning film Lost in Translation, which was set in the same country.
Keanu and Sofia’s romantic history dates back to over 30 years ago when they met during the production of Bram Stoker’s Dracula in 1991. Their relationship, albeit brief, ended the following year. Since then, Sofia married director Spike Jonze, with whom she later divorced, and is currently married to Phoenix lead singer Thomas Mars. Keanu, on the other hand, has been in relationships with several wоmеn, including Jennifer Syme, with whom he had a daughter, Ava Reeves. Unfortunately, Jennifer tragically passed away in 2001 at the age of 28. Keanu is currently in a relationship with artist Alexandra Grant, 50, since 2019.
