Sandra Bullock jokes about cleaning Keanu Reeves’ house weekly due to a bet they made during the filming of “Speed.”

In a red-carpet interview with Insider, Bullock revealed she only sees her “Speed” co-star Keanu Reeves a few times a year. When asked about their enduring friendship at the South by Southwest premiere of “The Lost City” in Austin, Texas, Bullock humorously claimed she tidies up Reeves’ home every Thursday due to a lost bet during “Speed.”

“I clean his house every Thursday. It’s sort of a thing we had. I lost a bet when we did ‘Speed,’ and I said, ‘Well, if it’s not true, I’ll clean your house,’” Bullock explained. “I think I’ve done a pretty good job. I stay out of certain rooms, but I respect it.”

Aside from her weekly cleaning duties, Bullock mentioned she sees Reeves maybe once or twice a year.

Bullock and Reeves have previously discussed their mutual crushes during the filming of “Speed.” In an interview with Esquire, Bullock shared that Reeves once brought her Champagne and truffles after she mentioned she’d never tried them together. Reeves admitted in 2019 that he had a crush on Bullock but didn’t realize she liked him back, attributing their lack of romance to their professional relationship.

Reflecting on their friendship, Bullock told Esquire that she’s glad they never dated, as it might have jeopardized their friendship if things had ended badly. She praised Reeves, noting his positive relationships with his former partners and expressing admiration for him as a person.
