Kevin Hart has swapped his wheelchair for a much more stylish ride during his latest outing.
The 44-year-old comedy superstar was spotted cruising in a vintage 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible in Malibu on Sunday, a refreshing change after weeks of being bound to a wheelchair due to a muscle injᴜry. Despite referring to himself as the ‘dumbest man alive,’ Kevin seemed to be recovering well as he Һit the road in the classic seafoam green convertible, driving along the iconic Pacific Coast Highway during the Labor Day weekend.
Kevin wasn’t alone; he was joined by a male friend, and both enjoyed the breeze in the open-top car. The star of Soul Plane kept it casual, wearing a black backward cap and a grey T-shirt for the ride.
Earlier that week, Hart shared with his fans that he was temporarily wheelchair-bound after tearing multiple muscles in a footrace against former NFL running back Stevan Ridley. The actor and comedian took to Instagram to explain that the injᴜry occurred after he and Ridley, who played for eight seasons in the NFL, debated who was faster. The two agreed to race a 40-yard dash, leading to Hart’s injuries.
Kevin humorously described his misfortune, saying, “I can’t walk… sit my a** down. I blew all my s*** – tore my lower abdomen and my abductors are torn.” He added, “I don’t even know what that is, but I tore them.”
Despite the injᴜry, Hart managed to keep his sense of humor, acknowledging that he had to respect his age: “Ladies and gentlemen, the age of 40 is real. Respect that age, or that age will make you respect it.”
Hart’s Instagram post drew comments from many celebrity friends, including Will Smith, Tamar Braxton, and Taraji P. Henson, who all wished him a speedy recovery. Fitness influencers also chimed in, advising on the importance of warming up before physical activity at his age.
Hart, nearly four years removed from his 2019 car accidеnt, didn’t specify how long it would take to recover from the torn muscles. However, he’s determined to bounce back and keep his fans laughing. As he continues to heal, Hart seems to be enjoying life on the road, trading his wheelchair for a classic convertible.
