Alicia Keys is already getting into the party spirit for her upcoming birthday.
The 40-year-old R&B star shared a few photos on Instagram from inside a ‘bubble room,’ part of an art installation at Superblue Miami, just three days before her 41st birthday.
“I’ve never been in a bubble room before…” Alicia captioned her post, adding a few bubble bath, purple heart, and soap emojis. The interactive exhibit is part of TeamLab, which organizes installations that “dissolve the boundary between the physical world and the world of artwork.” Currently, there are pop-up exhibits in Miami and London.
Alicia and her friends wore clear ponchos as they navigated through the bubbles. Underneath her protective gear, the Girl on Fire singer wore a pink and black sports brɑ with matching leggings. “Look, I’m in the cloud,” Alicia said in a video clip. “Where are you? I can’t find anybody.”
The room appeared to be made entirely of mirrors, and it was dimly lit, making it difficult for visitors to see much beyond the bubbles surrounding them.
Alicia recently released her eighth studio album, “Keys,” in December and performed it live in New York for the Today Show during its launch. In an interview with Today, Alicia explained that this is her first double album, featuring new original songs and remixes of some of her most popular hits.
“You get two amazing sides… the originals and unlocked,” the R&B singer noted. “It’s incredible, you’re going to love it.”
She also discussed her upcoming world tour, scheduled for Summer 2022. Alicia thanked her fans for their patience while her shows were rescheduled due to the CоVID-19 pɑndemic.
When asked if she would bring her sons on tour, Alicia replied, “Since it’s summer, I can bring them. You know, Egypt is 11 now, so he really has to keep up.”
Alicia has two sons, Egypt, 11, and Genesis, 6, whom she shares with her husband, Swizz Beats. The couple has been married since 2010.
