Alicia Keys, one of the best-selling music artists in history, has sold over 35 millio𝚗 albums and more than 30 million singles worldwide.
With the upcoming release of her fifth studio album, Girl on Fire, Keys is poised to add several million more to her sales count.
The acclaimed singer-songwriter unveiled the title of her new album today, along with a striking new photo, which is likely to be used as the album cover. The image features the stunning artist in a tight-fitting black dress that’s sheer except for a vertical strip of opaque fabric down the center.
This look is a drɑmɑtic departure from her fourth studio album, where Keys appeared in a flowing white ensemble with a silver headpiece.
“I’m in the studio right now, working on my new album, and I am SO excited!!!” Keys wrote in a diary entry on her website.
“I’m ignited!!! I’m like a match to a flame!”
The 31-year-old Grammy winner explained that the album’s title, Girl on Fire, had been on her mind for a while.
“It’s been hard to hold it back, but I can’t keep it in any longer! It’s called Girl on Fire!!! And that’s exactly how I feel!!!”
She hinted at the inspiration behind the album, revealing that she had experienced a significant shift in her mindset.
“Before making this record, I felt like a lion trapped in a cage… I felt like a girl who was misunderstood, someone no one really knew. I knew it was time to stop making excuses for any part of my life that I wɑnted to change. Once I made that decision, I became a Girl on Fire, the lion was unleashed!!”
