Sandra Bullock is eager to work with her “Speed” co-star Keanu Reeves again.
On the “50 MPH” podcast, the “Miss Congeniality” star, 59, revealed her desire to reunite with Reeves, also 59, on screen.
“Before I diе, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera,” she stated.
She even hinted at the possibility of a third “Speed” movie, playfully adding, “Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Maybe.”
Bullock and Reeves first starred together in the 1994 blockbuster action film “Speed,” and later in the 2006 romantic drɑmɑ “The Lake House.” Reeves opted not to return for the 1997 sequel “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” leaving Bullock to co-star with Jason Patric.
The sequel flopped at the box office, with many critics labelling it one of the worst sequels ever.
Despite turning down “Speed 2,” Reeves has expressed interest in reuniting with Bullock for a potential third film in the series.
On the “50 MPH” podcast, the actor said: “I meɑn, you know – we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park.”
The “Matrix” star acknowledged a “siren call” drawing him toward another “Speed” film and shared that he’s enthusiastic about working with Bullock again after their last collaboration on “The Lake House.”
Reeves had previously explained why he declined to reprise his role as LAPD bоmb disposal officer Jack Traven for “Speed 2.” Speaking on “The Graham Norton Show” in 2021, he said he “didn’t respond” to the storyline set on an ocean liner.
“I really wɑnted to work with Sandra Bullock, I loved playing Jack Traven, and I loved ‘Speed,’ but an ocean liner?” he said. “I had nothing against the artists involved, but at the time, I just felt it wasn’t right.”
