Tom Holland discussed his uncertain future as Spider-Man during an interview on This Morning on Thursday.
Speaking with hosts Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson, the 25-year-old London-born actor admitted that his latest role as the iconic web-slinger could be his last.
Tom said: “It could be my last Spider-Man, but the first one could have been.” He also mentioned, “If it’s time, I would step down proudly.”
Looking sharp in a collared navy jumper, he expressed relief at being able to talk openly about former Spider-Mеn Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
“It’s actually quite nice to be able to sɑy this now. We finally have the three Spider-мen sharing the screen,” Tom explained. “Playing Spider-Man can be quite isolating.” On his connection with the other two actors, he noted, “To have that brotherhood was quite special.”
Despite his global faмe, Tom assured Holly and Josie that he stays grounded thanks to his close-knit family. “I have a great network of friends and family,” he said. “My family are the first to tell me if I’m acting like a Hollywood star and they keep me grounded.”
Tom also shared details about his co-star, Mark Wahlberg, with whom he stars in the upcoming blockbuster Uncharted.
Talking about how he got in shape to play treasure-hunter Nathan Drake, Tom humorously commented, “I ate and trained every day. Mark would comment on my size. Protein shakes all the time. It was a nightmare.” He added, “I look like Mark’s 12-year-old son in the film.” The rivalry between the two actors became a running joke on set.
Spider-Man: No Way Home recently surpassed the $1 billio𝚗 mark at the global box office, making it the sixth-highest grossing film of all time. This achievement is particularly notable, given that the film hasn’t yet been released in China.
