White eyeliner has long been confined to Instagram posts, admired but rarely attempted in real life. However, Willow Smith shattered this stereotype with her daring and wearable white eyeliner look.
The 23-year-old musician debuted the trend at the Dior Spring/Summer 2018 Haute Couture show, opting for an unconventional “upside-down” application where the bottom of her eyes was lined instead of the top lids. The result was a fresh and unexpected twist that made traditional black cat-eye makeup seem dull in comparison.
Credit goes to makeup artist Carole Colombani, who described the look as a “white sharp futuristic under-liner.” Using Diorshow Khol #009 in White Khol, Colombani lined Smith’s waterline and lower lash line before sealing the liner with Diorskin Nude Air Loose Powder. To enhance the contrast, she applied Diorshow Blackout Mascara exclusively to the upper lashes.
Smith effortlessly embraced the look with sheer joy, radiating confidence in every photograph. Her bold choice serves as a reminder that beauty is about creativity and self-expression, encouraging others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace playful makeup trends with enthusiasm.
