Keanu Reeves has confessed that he ‘would love’ to play Wolverine following Hugh Jackman’s final appearance in the role.

Keanu, 54, had previously indicated an interest in the role. When asked by ScreenGeek.net if he would prefer to play Batman after Ben Affleck or Wolverine after Hugh Jackman, he replied, ‘Of the two, I’d love to play Wolverine.’

When asked if there was any other comic book character he would like to bring to the big screen, the “Matrix” star replied, ‘I don’t have one, to be candid.’

In 2017, Hugh Jackman announced that “Logan” would be his last film as Wolverine, confirming to The New York Times, ‘Someone else will play [Wolverine] for sure.’

Jackman made his debut as Wolverine in the first “X-Mеn” film and reprised the role in eight more movies, including sequels and the X-Mеn Origins spin-off focusing on the character.

It’s also been reported that Ben Affleck is stepping down from his role as Batman. According to Forbes, Affleck is unlikely to play Bruce Wayne in future films, as the upcoming “The Batman” will focus on the character’s younger years.

Keanu Reeves recently joined the high-profile cast of “Toy Story 4,” appearing alongside stars like Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, and Joan Cusack in the beloved franchise.
