Reflecting on portraying the iconic character for nearly a decade, Keanu, 58, shared with Metro.co.uk that John has pushed him to test his limits, stating, ‘I try really hard, but with John, you have to try just a little bit harder.’ He expressed his fondness for John’s qualities, including his humor, will, and grief, emphasizing that playing the character is enjoyable.
The fourth installment of the John Wick series is set to hit theaters this month, featuring returning stars such as Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, and Lance Reddick, alongside singer Rina Sawayama in her film debut.
Rina praised Keanu’s down-to-earth and calming presence during their collaboration, describing him as someone great to hang out with, almost like a family member.
Director and producer Chad Stahelski hinted at John Wick’s continued challenges in the upcoming film, teasing that finding new and interesting ways for John to suffer is a key element driving the action.
When asked about the potential for more John Wick films, Keanu expressed a focused approach, stating, ‘We just ɑttɑck one at a time,’ with an Ana de Armas spin-off titled Ballerina already in development.
