Bill and Ted’s Motorcycle Reunion Adventure!
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, longtime friends and co-stars of the iconic Bill & Ted movies, were spotted in Malibu on Wednesday. The duo grabbed coffee before embarking on a motorcycle ride along the scenic California roads. Dressed in black jackets and sunglasses, they carried their helmets during the outing.
Reeves, 57, and Winter, 56, gained fɑme for their roles in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). The pair reprised their characters for the highly anticipated 2020 sequel, Bill & Ted Face the Music.
Speaking to PEOPLE in August 2020, Reeves and Winter shared insights into dealing with fɑme following the success of the beloved comedy franchise. The films follow the story of two high school friends who use a time-traveling phone booth to ace their history report.
Winter recalled, “I’ve been chased down the street by an entire frat house. But the Bill and Ted notoriety comes coupled with so much joy from people when they recognize you. They’re always happy.”
Reeves, who portrayed Theodore “Ted” Logan, shared, “I had been recognized for some things before, but now people were calling out to me, ‘Yo, dude. Be excellent. Party on!'”
The camaraderie between the actors extends beyond on-screen roles. Winter expressed, “I think of him [Reeves] as my brother,” with Reeves adding, “We enjoy each other’s company and our thoughts and takes on the world. When we come together, it’s like, ‘What are you thinking?’ ‘I don’t know, but this is kind of funny.’ ‘Yeah, that’s kind of weird too.’ … I love the characters. I love the world and I love working with Alex. I’m grateful that we had the chance to play again.
