ļ»æKeanu Reeves and British author China MiĆ©ville will collaborate on a novel titled “The Book of Elsewhere,” scheduled for publication in July by Random House’s Del Rey imprint.
The novel, Reeves’ first, expands on the world introduced in the BRZRKR comic series he co-created with writer Matt Kindt and artist Ron Garney.
The story follows an immortal warrior on a quest spanning millennia to unlock the sŠµcrŠµt of his immortality and, perhaps, find a way to break free from it.
Reeves is set to star in a live-action Netflix BRZRKR film, with a Netflix anime spinoff also in development.
The novel, set for release on July 23, was acquired by Del Rey through Ben Greenberg, VP, Editor-in-Chief, Random House, from Laura Bonner and Erin Malone at WME.
The BRZRKR comic series, launched in 2021, achieved significant success, ranking as the #1 bestselling debut of a new comic property in over 25 years and the #1 bestselling comic of the decade.
Filip Sablik, President, Publishing & Sales, BOOM! Studios, praised the collaboration with Del Rey, describing “The Book of Elsewhere” as a noteworthy publishing event.
China MiĆ©ville, known for acclaimed works such as “The City & The City” and “Perdido Street Station,” expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play with Reeves’ creative universe.
