At the 2023 BottleRock Napa Valley Festival, 58-year-old actor Keanu Reeves delighted the audience by performing with his band, Dogstar. The actor, known for his love of music, took the stage in a casual ensemble featuring a black T-shirt, light brown pants, and tan boots while playing the guitar.
His shoulder-length locks flowed freely, and he showcased his distinctive salt-and-pepper beard, frequently flashing smiles to the cheering crowd.
Alongside Keanu, Dogstar guitarist/vocalist Bret Domrose and drummer Robert Mailhouse joined the performance, featuring songs from their upcoming third album and some beloved classics.
Before the show, the band expressed their excitement on Instagram, sharing a post about being added to the BottleRock festival lineup.
After the performance, the band took to social media again, expressing gratitude for the successful day. Dogstar, initially formed in 1991, released two studio albums and an EP before disbanding in 2002. Their reunion in 2023 reflects their enthusiasm for continuing their musical journey together.
Keanu, in an interview with Billboard, emphasized that being in the band was not just a side project but an integral part of his life. Despite his successful acting career, he sees music as an ongoing passion rather than something to make time for. Reflecting on the band’s hiatus, Keanu expressed how much he missed playing, writing, and performing together, ultimately leading to the decision to reunite.
Dogstar is currently working on their fourth studio album, with details like the title and release date yet to be announced. The BottleRock performance marked their first public appearance since their breakup in 2002, signaling an exciting new chapter for the band.
