Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy “trained even harder” for her role on tour after being trolled over her “lackluster” dance moves.
The 11-year-old has become a regular on stage during her mom’s ‘Renaissance’ tour after the singer previously gave her the chance to dance in one of her shows but now it’s been reported that Blue Ivy saw some nasty comments about her performance which spurred her on to work even harder to perfect her moves.
According to The New York Times review of Beyonce’s performance DVD, “Beyonce was dismayed when Blue Ivy read comments on social media criticizing her lackluster moves”. But her mother was overjoyed because instead of giving up, she decided to put in the effort and train even harder for future trips.
Blue Ivy was only meant to perform on stage with her mother once since the singer was determined not to expose her child to show business too early. Beyonce revealed in the film, “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no”.
She does, however, now have a spot as a backup dancer, joining her mother for performances of “My Power” and “Black Parade.”
Jay Z, Blue Ivy’s father, recently spoke out about his daughter’s role in Beyonce’s event, revealing that he is proud of her.
During an interview on CBS Mornings with Gayle King last month, the rapper said, “I still get goosebumps seeing her walk onstage”. She was born into a life she did not choose. So she’s been under scrutiny and in the public glare since she was born, with everyone having an opinion on how she keeps her hair, even though she’s only a little kid. You couldn’t create a finer script for her to walk on that platform and reclaim her authority, especially since the song is called “My Power”.
