Kanye West, the hip-hop and fashion icon, reportedly paid $6.2 million for a mansion across the street from his ex Kim Kardashian.
The single-story, unrenovated property is just meters away from the ex-couple’s previous family quarters in the gated neighborhood of Hidden Hills, which is located above the Santa Monica Mountains region of Los Angeles County in California.
And he reportedly hoped the modest five-bedroom, four-bath house so much that he paid $4.5 million – $421,000 more than the asking price. The rapper is also in luck because the five-bedroom, four-bathroom Hidden Hills home went on the market for the first time in 67 years on December 1 for $4.079 million, according to the listing.
According to public documents, West, 44, closed on the residence on December 20 through the LLC Spruce Blue Trust. Although the “Donda” singer has stated a desire to “get his family back together,” a source told The Post that this house was mostly for the former couple’s children.
However, it appears that the home will require some repairs, as it appears to be a long cry from what the Kardashian-West family is used to. The inconspicuous home is over 3,600 square feet in size and sits on over an acre of land, which includes an equestrian ranch. The residence boasts shaggy beige carpets throughout, as well as old wood paneling and cabinets.
A fireplace in the family room and sliding doors that look out onto the pool and horse corral are among the features. According to the advertisement, the home also includes a two-car attached garage with a guest suite that leads along a walk to the three-stall barn. The barn includes a tack room and hay storage, as well as a huge horse paddock.
Since the property, which has been well-maintained, was erected in 1955, the same owners have resided there. The front yard was recently rebuilt with drought-resistant AstroTurf, and the current kitchen, which features an island, was remodeled in 2005.
